King Sawlu

Ruling Years : A.D (1077 - 1084)

King Sawlu ascended the throne after his father's death (King Anawrahta) in 1077. King Sawlu had a son called Prince Sawyun.

King Sawlu never left a successor to his throne. King Sawlu trusted his follower Ngeya Mankan and granted him as the governor of Bago Hantharwaddi. But he was betrayed and was captured by his follower. When Kyansitthar came to rescue him, King Sawlu shouted and thought Ngeya Mankan would help him.

So Kyanzittha left King Sawlu. But instead King Sawlu was killed by Ngeya Mankan. Then the Bago Hantharwaddi war against Bagan began. Kyanzittha defeated the enemies and became the King of Bagan.
